Lakes & Pines piloting Youth Host Home Program

The Community Services Department at Lakes & Pines CAC, Inc. is piloting a Youth Host Home Program in the counties of Carlton and Pine. The goal of the Youth Host Home Program is to break the pattern of homelessness for young people before they think that’s their only option.

On any given night in Minnesota there are over 2,500 homeless youth and 40 percent of these youth live in rural Minnesota.

The purpose of the informational meetings is to connect caring individuals and families to at-risk or homeless youth. The volunteer hosts will provide safe housing, a separate bedroom, food and basic needs while the youth is in their home.
