4-H club collects toys

Submitted by Lauren Swanson

The Mountain Climbers 4-H club met December 9. Club members had collected toy donations for the Moose Lake toy drive, then made Christmas cards to hand out as they caroled through the city of Sturgeon Lake.

On November 11, the Mountain Climbers 4-H club met at the Swanson’s for a potluck, hayride, and monthly business meeting. Almost all members were present, with one guest. 2012/2013 handbooks, along with member in good standing forms were handed out.

December 9 was a snowy evening with a smaller turnout. We met for a brief business meeting which included turning in club dues as well as encouraging members to attend a Business Leadership and Understanding conference in February. Club members had collected toy donations for the Moose Lake toy drive, then made Christmas cards to hand out as they caroled through the city of Sturgeon Lake.

The club's next meeting will take place January 13 with sledding and skating. They will also be collecting birthday bags for the local food shelf. If you would like more information about the club or 4-H, call the Carlton County Extension Office at (218) 384-3512.
