Bomber Daron Mainville goes for a shot against the Cook County Vikings.

Barnum’s lady Bombers started off the night of December 18 taking on the Cook County Vikings in a double header with the boys game to follow. Bomber Daron Mainville began the night getting the opening tip off for the Bombers; Mainville also put up the first points of the night. The Cook County Vikings fell behind in the beginning, but continued to fight and began to close the gap. Bomber Megan Nelson began to drive the lane to enable Bomber Cheyanne Johnson to get open to drop in two three -pointers. Bombers Emily Miletich and Lauren Hultgren both added two points each, helping to lead the Bombers to a 28-22 point halftime.

The Bombers came out of halftime with a newfound energy to run past the Vikings, with Mainville nearly outscoring the Vikings on her own with 10 second-half points. Nelson also continued to drive the lane to add in another eight points. Johnson once again attacked from behind the three-point line, before finally driving inside to score.

Mainville led the ladies’ scoring with 20 points, followed by Nelson with 16 points. Johnson ended the night with 12 points, three three-pointers, one two-pointer, and one freethrow. Hultgren ended the night with three points. Miletich rounded out the scoring for the Bombers with two points to give the Bombers a 53-34 point victory.
