Charges have been brought against the person that burglarized the change machine at the Mercy Hospital cafeteria on September 4. Michael Scott Hanson, 47, of South St. Paul was charged with felony theft, reported Moose Lake Police Chief Bryce Bogenholm.

David Matthew Jones, 37, of Moose Lake has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle. The vehicle was taken on September 6 from behind the Dairy Queen. It belonged to an employee.

The damaged vehicle was recovered in the Twin Cities area a short time later.

Chief Bogenholm explained that Jones has not been able to be located. If Jones does not appear in court on the date set, a warrant will be issued for his arrest.

Anthony Charles Green, 53, an offender at the Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP), has been charged with assault on a female staff member on November 25. The staff member was hospitalized. The offender was brought to jail.

Robert Engstrom, 49, of Casper Road was charged with a DWI, fleeing and test refusal on November 17.

William Kelner of New Brighton was stopped by a Moose Lake P. D. officer on I-35 at 1:15 a.m. on September 18 after a driving complaint had been received. The officer observed a half empty bottle of vodka in the center console. The breath test at the scene showed 1.57. Kelner refused the test at the jail. Kelner was charged with DWI, open bottle and test refusal.

Robert Thomas Kolmetscher, 43, was charged with driving after cancellation of his driver’s license on October 27. He was scheduled for an initial appearance in court on November 30.

Amanda Jean Popowitz, 34, an employee of Joe Jitters Coffeehouse at the time, was charged with felony theft and third degree burglary after stealing several thousand dollars from her employer on September 25.

Chad Michael Kimmel, 36, Moose Lake, was charged with three degrees of DWI. The preliminary breath test was 1.57 and the breath test in jail was .18. He was charged with a gross misdemeanor and open bottle.

Christopher Robert Krych, 45, an offender at the MSOP, was charged with damage to property and disorderly conduct after he threw a table through one of the windows at the MSOP.

Mary Therese Conley, 30, stole over $1,000 from a resident at Oakview Assisted Living. On August 29 Conley was questioned, and, after a lengthy interview, admitted taking $1,160 from the resident. She was charged with felony theft.

After a lengthy investigation, involving the Carlton County Sheriff's Office and Pine County Sheriff's Office, Joshua Dale Boedigheimer, 35, along with Dennis James Raway, also known as D. J. Raway, were charged with receiving stolen property. Snowblowers had been stolen from ALCO last spring, and Boedigheimer told police officers that Raway had stolen an ATV from a residence in Pine County residence near Island Lake. Woodworking tools and mechanical tools had also been stolen.
