Local veterans honored

Veterans from the local communities were honored November 5 with a meal and program provided by the American Legion Post 361 and the Catholic Council of Women of St. Isidore of Sturgeon Lake. The evening began with a tribute and a special prayer offered by Father Sunny Thomas followed by the meal. The program began and ended with the American flag, which was presented by the Honor Guard of the American Legions of Willow River and Sturgeon Lake. Dean Dronen of Pine County Veterans Services was the speaker. He honored and praised the local veterans during his speech. The musicians sang patriotic songs, including "God, Bless the USA."
