Two arrested after fatal crash

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, two people are dead and two others have been arrested following an October 1 crash near Cromwell.

The incident occurred just before 9 a.m. on Highway 210 near the intersection of Award Boulevard when a Olds Aurora, driven by Vanessa R. Brigan, 26 of Cloquet, crossed the centerline, striking a Ford pickup driven by Zachary M. Gamache, 25 of Esko. The axel of the pickup broke and it veered into oncoming traffic, hitting a gooseneck trailer being pulled by a Ford F350. Both Gamache and the passenger in his vehicle, Mitchell D. Lingren, 29 of Duluth, were ejected and died as a result of the crash.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol incident report, Brigan was arrested for criminal vehicular operation. The passenger in Brigan's vehicle, Jesse D. McMillen, 25 of Cloquet, fled the scene and was later arrested on a warrant.

The driver of the Ford F350 was not injured.
